Letters from the Composer

The Emergence of the Piano Trio

Join us as we trace the legacy of the string quartet through the works of Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven. We will be hosting discussions and performances that focus on the political, social, and personal context of some of the greatest works from the piano trio repertoire. Composer/performer Ericsson Hatfield will introduce compositional techniques in an engaging and accessible way. All funds go towards future expansion of Lyrica’s community outreach projects.

Each concert is live over Zoom (link will be sent to subscribers 2 hours before the concert) and begins with a roundtable discussion (30-45 min) detailing a history of the social, personal, and compositional points of a piece. A Q&A session will follow.

Each concert will be recorded and a private link will be sent to the subscribing email address.
