Josue Negrete

Josue Negrete began studying the violin at the age of ten and in only four years was accepted on full scholarship to the prestigious Dallas Symphony Young Strings program and the Booker T. Washington High School of the Performing and Visual Arts. Mr. Negrete has performed in collaboration with the Verona and Invoke String Quartets as well as William Preucil, former concertmaster of the Cleveland Orchestra and in the spring of 2019, made his National Public Radio Debut on Robert Sherman’s McGraw Hill Young Artist broadcast. As a member of the Dallas Youth Symphony, he also performed with the Dallas Symphony on their Side-by-Side concert series. 

An avid orchestra player, Josue has participated in the celebrated Texas All-State Orchestral program, the Interlochen World Youth Symphony, and currently plays in the Binghampton Symphony and serves as concertmaster of the Syracuse University Symphony Orchestra. While attending SU, he was instrumental in establishing the Art House Alliance, and received a CORA Foundation Grant from the Central New York Arts Council for his significant contributions. Negrete was a SPHINX  Symposium Fellow in 2020 and has attended the Interlochen Arts Academy and LyricaFest summer festivals as well as participated in “Syracuse Strasbourg”, the university‘s study abroad program in France. Presently, he performs as a violinist and violist of the Lyrica Chamber Orchestra of Boston, MA.
